All For the Hall

Tuesday night my sister and her roommate Jenny and I went to the All For the Hall benefit concert {benefitting the country music hall of fame} in Nashville hosted by the one and only Keith Urban!
It was such a great show for a great cause and the line up was fantastic...
Keith Urban, Vince Gill {no pictures turned out very good}, Martina McBride, Billy Currington, Miranda Lambert, Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, Allison Krauss, John Mayer, and Dolly Parton!
The performers were asked to play one of their songs and then play a song from someone they thought was a hero.

KEITH URBAN!
Even Nicole was there!

MIRANDA LAMBERT!

MARTINA MCBRIDE!

BILLY CURRINGTON!

AND JOHN MAYER!!!!
I was unbelievably excited and he did wonderful...he just got off the plane from Milan literally right before he performed.

Beat Florida

Yesterday was the UA v. Florida game and it was exciting. First off it's a big rival for many factors:
1. The game that broke Prothro's ankle back in 2005
2. Florida beat us in the SEC championship game in 2008
3. We beat Florida last year in the SEC championship
So we meet again and it was successful!
UA won 31-10!!
Here are a few snap shots of the game...

procrastination

Oh. my. goodness. I have never been one to really procratinate, but honestly I have been putting off this research paper for 3 weeks. It's due Wednesday, so fingers crossed and lots of prayers for motivation. Not that social media is a hard topic to discuss and research in 8 pages, but the lack of motivation is definitely there! I've done everything I could to not write this paper...church, cooked, laundry, bible study, dinner with friends, and planned a trip {TBA soon!}.
- - -
Tonight in bible study we had the privilage of catching up with an old friend, Will Miller. Remember him?! We climbed to the top of the silo freshman year...he's the one on the left.

Anyway, Will spent about a year travelling the world spreading the word of the Gospel and for the last 4 months he focused in the Phillipines. His stories are amazing. One thing that really stuck out in our discussion tonight was the saying that Will tells himself daily is...Get over yourself. Totally true! Right now I'm in this little bubble located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and I think I have the worst problems...writing an 8 page research paper...when really, all my focus should be on God and how I can help spread the word daily. Will is doing this cool thing where he either hears about the Gospel or he tells someone about the Gospel. He is at day 113 as of right now. I find this a great challenege. Anyone up to doing it with me?! Please feel free to share your stories throughout the process!

Visit Will's blog for more information on him and his amazing journey!

Penn State, Now that's not great

Yesterday was the UA v. Penn State game and to be honest, I thought it would be a better game. It was still a lot of fun though and Alabama won 24-3!
Richardson for Heisman! He was on fire!
There was a lot of excitement around this game. ESPN was here for College Gameday and Bobby Bowden was here.
Great shot of Nick Saban, Bobby Bowden, and Joe Paterno.
Greatness was in Tuscaloosa last night!
Sorry for the lack of photos . . . it poured before the game and we got soaked, and then it started raining during half time...thanks for the $5.00 Saran wrap poncho. It kept us somewhat dry.
As for the title of the post, on the way to a friends house after the game, we were stopped by some kids that painted signs for $1.00 and we purchased one that said "Penn State, Now that's not great!". Maybe we should do something like that, they had a whole Ziploc bag full of money!! They are the future of entrepreneurs!

back from nashville!

I've been in Nashville the past few days visiting some family. I just love it there! My grandfather has a pasture down the road from him, so one day after lunch {and while he was taking his aftenoon nap} I decided to pay a visit to the cows.
Found the little ones!!

And then I went to Franklin to visit more family! We shopped down town, which I always love! There are soooo many cute shops! And then we worked up an appetite and had
lunch at a yummy gas station / restaurant. It's called Henpeck Market. If you're ever in Franklin, you need to stop by there and get a sandwich. I got this sandwich that isn't always on the menu. It is sliced turkey, apple butter, sliced apple, and lettuce. It sounds gross, but oh my glory it's soooo good!! Then you can shop in the upstairs loft! It's a really cute shop full of jewelry and home decor!

This is a picture of myself and my cousins Shelby and Lauren. Not such a great picture, but it's the only one!

I miss it already and want to go back tomorrow!! Too bad I have to go back to work.

The 5 Questions : Dreams + Reality

I've been working quite a bit lately and I love it when my co-workers "quiz" me on my life. Basically it's 5 questions they want to know about me.
- - -
1) What do you want to do after you graduate?
2) Where do you want to end up living?
3) What is the ideal age you want to marry?
4) Where do you buy your clothes/what's your inspiration?
5) If you didn't open a boutique one day, what would you want to be doing?

Simple to answer all these right? I can just spit out the answers right away . . .
1) Well it depends on how things go with my internship {cross your fingers its in NYC}! I either want to stay in that city and continue working for that company or move to an urban city {L.A. or Chicago} and free - lance styling.
2) It's in my heart that I stay south in my older days and Franklin, Tennessee has always had my heart.
3) I love this one . . . did I mention most of them are in high school and dream of getting married between the ages of 21-23? Well, right now in life I'm waiting for God to lead me in the direction He has for me. Til then, I'm not sure.
4) Right now, mostly from Charlotte's since I work there, but I put my own twist in my outfit. Other than that, J. Crew, Gap, Francesca's Collection, and recently the thrift store. I've never been to one until last week and although it grossed me out a bit, I found some cute stuff that I ripped and embellished and made my own!
5) Gosh, this has been where my head is spinning! I have so many ideas and things I want to do. Maybe wedding planning?! There is just something I adore about weddings. I can look at wedding photos for hours! It's sad, but true! Yet again, still waiting on Him to lead me in the right direction.
- - -
Still, with all of my dreams, how can I make them a reality? I am determined and passionate about the things in my life. Some people find me as a workaholic or too stubborn to say no. I happen to think these are great qualities. I guess I will have to figure that out on my own and continue to look for guidance from the big guy upstairs. Til then, I'll be keeping my eyes on my dreams and, to my best abilities, making them into reality.
xoxo Julie
