I had a whole line up of posts for the week, but the devastating events that occurred in Tuscaloosa has truly changed my life forever. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and help in anyway. I am truly blessed to be alive today and thank God for keeping his hand on us. Tuscaloosa is such a strong community and I pray that we stay committed and I am confident we will get through this. If you want to help in anyway, follow one of the links below or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10.00.

the best is yet to come

After a relaxing and great long weekend in Franklin, TN, i'ts time unfortunately to come back to reality of school and work. But during my mini vacation, some questions were asked about my career and future and quite frankly, it made me a little uneasy. I'm really not sure of what I want to do with my life. I thought I did, but as I was thinking about all the possibilities, I couldn't pin point an exact answer. My mind is racing with ideas and endless possibilities. I guess it's time to buckle down, do a little research, and start figuring out what my next step in life will be. Luckily, I have learned that the best is yet to come!
Isn't that exhilarating to think about?!

twenty-one

I turned 21 this past Tuesday and it has been such a blast celebrating. First some friends and I had a great birthday dinner at Chuck's {my all-time favorite sushi place}. Here's an awkward picture taken by our server with most of the group.
Then Saturday I went home to celebrate with the family, which was quite a treat since I don't get to see them often.
The night was spent eatting my favorite home-cooked meal {grilled chicken with homemade white bbq sauce}, Edgar's strawberry cake with sparkler candles, and two and a half hours playing Monopoly. Seriously, it was the best family bonding experience . . . I had tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard . . . who knew Monopoly could be so competitive?!

As for the birthday gifts, they really hit it on the nail! I got an Ann Taylor gift card {I'm really excited about that . . . in need of some new Spring pieces} and a surprise pair of Oakley sunglasses. Here are a few pieces I'll be getting with that A.T. gift card.

And here are my sunglasses {Oakley Polarized Hinder)

thursday night entertainment

Last night some friends and I went to the Ben Rector/Steve Moakler concert in Birmingham.
IT WAS SO GREAT!
What a great show those two give . . . and not too mention their talented band members!

While we went to purchase some uber cool {and philanthropic} merchandise, look who we ran into. . .
{Kari, Steve, Sarah, Kelsey, and me}
Oooohhh yeeeahhh, that's STEVE MOAKLER!!! He is too cute! I hope they travel through again because I will definitely be going!

I'm Back!

Hi all! I'm back, settled in with school and trying to manage my time for this semester. I can't believe I only have 3 semesters left . . . I'm not ready to go! I've been planning a trip to NYC this summer with my sister and I can.not.wait!
So if you have any suggestions on where to eat/places to visit/where not to go, it will be much appreciated!

One item I can't wait to bring out this summer . . . the boyfriend pant. I was shopping in one of my fav stores, Ann Taylor and loved their spring collection. It was full of boyfriend crops: denim, white, and other colors as well.
Thanks for all your patience, but not to worry folks, I'm back and ready to let the creative juices start flowing!

UA v. Georgia State

I must say, it was so weird to have a game on Thursday. It just wasn't the same. Tuscaloosa was quiet, the stadium wasn't packed, and the quad was some what empty. But, we still had fun...and froze!
This game was especially special because one, my sister and cousin came!!!

and two, because John David dressed out AND got to play!!!

There he is, #31!! Entertainment of the night and please watch the YouTube video of Corbin.

Houndstooth Santa!

So proud of JD!!!

nashville

As promised, here are some pictures from the Nashville trip last weekend!
5 hour car ride, rockin' the back seat with Leah.
Found this great view of the city in a Belmont parking lot.
Group picture, a little prom-ish minus the dates and glitter dresses.
Meredith's b'day dinner . . . apparently it takes us three times to get a good one. . .
New Nashville friends!
Taylor Swifts loft . . .
Car ride back!

Highly recommend going to Nashville if you've never been! So much to do and it's just so pretty!

After a tough loss yesterday, friends and I decided to be festive and carve pumpkins!
I did a haunted house...you really can't tell what it is until you place a candle in it.
o
Katie and Meredith did an elephant which turned out real cute and Jordan carved an owl.
Now they're placed all aroud the apartment and look great!

All For the Hall

Tuesday night my sister and her roommate Jenny and I went to the All For the Hall benefit concert {benefitting the country music hall of fame} in Nashville hosted by the one and only Keith Urban!
It was such a great show for a great cause and the line up was fantastic...
Keith Urban, Vince Gill {no pictures turned out very good}, Martina McBride, Billy Currington, Miranda Lambert, Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, Allison Krauss, John Mayer, and Dolly Parton!
The performers were asked to play one of their songs and then play a song from someone they thought was a hero.
