New Year, New Julie

I know I'm a week behind on setting my goals for 2010, but I've been pondering my ideas. I like to set goals instead of a new year resolution because quite frankly, I always break them. So, I have set goals. I don't have to necessarily accomplish them, but to work hard to reach them. If that makes any sense at all. Here are some of my goals for 2010, let the challenge begin!
1. Healthy Living.
I want to better myself. Not just the fad of dieting and exercising, but I watch Dr. Oz sometimes in the morning and he states that instead of doing diets and exercising to lose the fast and temporary weight, to better yourself in all aspects. I want to eat more organic food. Get some sort of exercise everyday. I've done well so far. The first thing I did was buy salad and appropriate salad dressings, tilapia, multi-grain snacks and bread, and since I love pasta, I mean I do have a little italian in me, I got wheat pasta! Now, I have to work on the exercising. I don't like to go to the gym everyday, so I take walks/runs and to some videos. Now, if I just incorporated that in my schedule everyday, then I would be good to go. I feel like if I worked on this, then I would be having a healthy lifestyle that would benefit my body and boost my energy levels.
2. Be frugal.
Not only do I have a shopping problem, but I spend money on just random things! That was a problem I had in 2009 that will not happen in 2010! It all happens when i keep cash in my wallet. I don't know what it is, but it always disappears faster than when I just have my check card. I also want to start saving my money. I have a lot of things in my future that are going to be a bit pricey and I want to do all that I can to help my parents out. I have a huge internship in a few years and I want to go to NYC to do it! If I start saving now, I think this can be done!
3. Spend more time with my little sister.
I am a big sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister organization and I absolutely love it! My little is a third grader named Raven. She has changed me and opened my eyes in the last few months that I have known her. Getting to be friends with her has made me realize how much of a blessing my life is and that I take some things for granted.
4. Hard worker.
I've always believed that you get out what you put in. Meaning in my situation, my job. I try to work hard and hopefully that hard work pays off. In the fashion world, there are so many people trying to get into just a few positions. Being passionate about something and having a goal in place, I know as long as I keep organized and follow my heart, that one day I will get to where I want to be.
5. Something Positive
Say something positive everyday about yourself and others will make you smile. Just the joy of saying something simple or to a stranger puts a little pep in their step. I know when someone compliments something I have on or just to say, it always brightens my day. And when you say something to yourself, it boosts your confidnence, which everyone needs, and makes you more comfortable in your skin!
Those are just a few, but I hope you'll be inspired and try some out!
xoxo Julie
