ready for the weekend

Happy Friday! It's my last weekend in Tuscaloosa and it's all bittersweet. I am completely ready to begin this new journey {more to come next week}!  This past week was spent finishing up my last labs and working on my senior project. All that's left is one project and one final next week! Have any fun plans this weekend? I just have to work a little bit, watch Alabama dominate Ole Miss, and hang out with some pretty special friends.

Song of the weekend -> thanks Lauren for the recommendation!

Seriously, I am obsessed.

Will you/have you change{d} your last name after marriage?

Thanks Emily for the tips, definitely will need these in a couple weeks!

What a hunk!

Now, these are cool bunk beds!

Thinking about getting a wand {no, not like Harry Potter} . . . do you like them?

Anna Wintour attitude.

A simple and beautiful wedding ceremony.

How to decorate your mantle this fall.

for the soul

This is the only picture I have from this weekend. I know, typical. My phone is my camera and I never leave anywhere without it, but as usual I get caught up in the moment and forget. Any who, my sister {along with some other cousins and Jessica's friend} came to title town for the game on Saturday. It was the first home game and it was wonderful to be in town with it overflowing with crimson and white fans {minus the oddly and awfully dressed people}.

I also noticed that I listened to a lot of jazz music over the weekend. I've never really listened to it, but after watching parts of The Notebook {one of my fav's} it sparked an interest. Needless to say, I haven't stopped listening to Louis, Etta, and Billie.

The combination of family time and jazz music has been good for the soul this past weekend, especially after these last couple of hard weeks! With these two things, the weather dipping into the high seventies, and hot green tea, I hope this week starts off right {so far, so good too}!

a u t u m n

With final plans and itineraries coming together, butterflies have started fluttering in my stomach about the move to NYC. I can't wait to spend my favorite season there. I mean seriously, how beautiful is Central Park during autumn?! With Starbuck's officially bringing back my favorite latte, it's really starting to feel like fall {besides the fact that the weather is still in the 90s and humidity is 100%}. Here are my picks to make this autumn a little more special.

weekend review

Can we go back to Friday? That had to seriously be the fastest weekend ever. I took the weekend off and went to the other side of Alabama where my family has a place on the lake. It was glorious, especially since my family from Nashville came down as well. The weekend started off wonderful with my sister officially asking me to be Maid of Honor! I couldn't be more thrilled!
And then my cousin and I had a little evening fishing before the big Michigan-Alabama game {which we won "woot woot" 41-14}! By the way, I learned a few things while attempting to fish.
1) I'm not patient enough for this sport.
2) I had to throw out my reel about 5 times before I could perfect it.
3) Painting nails > fishing
I also learned where I get my lipstick fetish from. My grandmother had oodles of lipstick tubes that I found in the bathroom and loved going through her assortment.
These are my sweet cousins from Nashville. I have so many memories with these girls and can't wait to share many, many more {my sister's wedding included}!

And the highlight of the weekend {coming very close to Bama winning} was The Color Run! Have you ever heard of it? Besides the fact that I have talked about it here numerous times, ha?! Well, it's the happiest 5K on the planet. Seriously, it is. You start out with a white tee on and every 1K is a different color.
By the end of the race, you look like this . . . and I do have to mention that it poured the entire time. I mean poured, not a light mist or a sprinkle. But, it was still such a blast and definitely will be signing up again!
