spring essentials | weekend getaway

Did you remember to set your clock ahead this past weekend? I love the time change, even if we lose an hour of beauty sleep. We've had a few glorious days with the weather {helllllooooo 70 degrees!} and it has been blissful! With the sun shining a little longer, flowers starting to bloom, and farmers markets to shop at, all that means that spring is lingering! And to prepare yourselves for what is ahead, here are some of my spring essentials for a weekend getaway!

1. A tote bag

CB Station | Sunshine Satchel
There is nothing sweeter than escaping on the weekends, especially after a stressful week at work. It doesn't matter whether you're going to the lake, the Hampton's, or going to face the most treacherous mountain trails, every girl {or guy} needs a satchel to pack up your necessities. I love this classic canvas bag in navy and white. Don't you just love it?!

2.  A dress that won't wrinkle.

Although I don't usually loathe the task of ironing, but when I'm on a vacation - and especially a quick one for that matter - I don't want to spend my time pressing the wrinkles out of a dress. I love the stripes and blue hues that this J. Crew number has! I also love this, this, and this one.

3. Tinted moisturizer
Tarte Smooth Operator
I feel like this one is a no brainer. It's essential to me for coverage and protecting my skin at the same time. I have fallen in love with Tarte's Smooth Operator. I used it last summer and it was the quickest way for me to get up, get ready, and out the door in no time. A little tinted moisturizer, mascara, and chap stick and I am ready for a day at the beach, shopping the boutiques in the Hamptons, or preparing myself for an afternoon hike!

4. Hat & Sunglasses

I never leave the house without (a couple pair of) my sunglasses. Seriously, I think I have a problem. If I checked my purse right now, I'm pretty sure there are three pair. I love all kinds - the cheap ones from Charlotte Russe or higher end like Oliver Peoples. And what's a beach getaway without a hat? That's right, not one. This one from Anthropologie has a relaxed feel that would be perfect to shade your eyes while reading the latest Vogue.

5. Dry Shampoo

It's the ultimate secret to perfect relaxed curls - the day after hair. If you're like me and have slightly oily hair after a few hours on the pillow, using dry shampoo will fix this problem pronto! Just spray a little on the roots and you are good to go on your next adventure!

Hope these few essentials will help when planning your next weekend trip. Be sure to share where you're going so the rest of us can be envious!
